Check Presentation to Malnati Brain Tumor Institute

The Carol Lynn Fuller Foundation is presenting a $10,000 check to the Lou and Jean Malnati Brain Tumor Institute of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. The esteem researcher and co-director of the Malnati Brain Tumor Institute, Dr. Roger Stupp has graciously accepted Bob Fuller’s invitation to come to Decatur to receive the donation by the foundation. Bob set The Carol Lynn Fuller Foundation, Ltd in honor of his late wife in early January. Carol passed October 5th, 2022 from a Glioblastoma Mulitform (GBM) tumor, less
than 6 months after discovery and surgery.

The Foundation’s goal is to raise money for brain cancer research and to spread information on this cancer that has no cure to the public. Carol was an unrecognized artist and Bob replicated her art in an art photobook as well as on a variety of media to fund the foundation, along with donations. Then, in conjunction with Jim Fox, co-owner of Golden Fox Brewing, held a Celebration of Life of Carol and a fundraiser for brain cancer research on May 6th at Golden Fox brewing.

A short introduction by Councilman Pat McDaniel will be made. Pat worked closely with Carol and Bob for many years when they served together on the Board of WENA, The West End Neighborhood Association. A short presentation by Bob and by Dr. Stupp will follow. There will be limited time for interviews post presentation with Dr. Stupp. Working together, we can make a difference.
